Simple Guide To Apply Nail Polish
Before starting to apply your nail polish its best to get the preparation correct first. This will help with better and longer results. The most important thing is to make sure you have plenty of time. Choose a time when you know you wont get interrupted find some quiet time. Ok now make sure you have the following items.
- Nail Polish
- Nail Polish Removeer
- Hand & Nail moisturiser
- A Cuticle stick
- A Emery Board
- Cotton Pads
- Cuticle Oil
It might be worth having a cuticle trimmer close by. Ok were now ready to begin.
1. Remove old nail polish.
Firstly remove any old nail polish from your nails. Put some nail polish remover on a cotton pad and wipe over the nails. TIP Try not to use a nail polish remover that is acetone or alchol based as this can dry the nail out and cause it to chip and split. Also try not to use nail polish remover more than once a week to give your nails time to recover from the chemicals.
2. Apply Cuticle Oil.
Now brush on some cuticle oil or if the you dont have that you can
use olive oil and massage it in. Leave on while filing to soften your nails.
3. File Your Nails.
Use a nail file to neaten the shape of your nails. When filing on file in one direction to prevent chipping and damage to the nails.

4. Wash Your Hands.
Wash your hands as you dont want to apply a layer of nail polish over dirt or nail polish remover.
5. Tidy Up Your Cuticles.
Now its time to tidy up your cuticles. To soften your cuticles soak your nails in warm water for 15 minutes or you could use cuticle remover. You can then trim the cuticle as again you dont want to apply nail polish over the top of them.
6. Apply Nail Polish.
Now we are ready to apply the nail polish. First apply a thin layer of polish. Nail polish can last longer if you apply thin layers rather than one big layer. Brush on with 2 or 3 strokes. dont worry about any bumps as these will settle when drying. Only brush near to the end of the nail but not to the edge of the nail and dont paint on the cuticle.
Now wait and relax in front of the TV until the polish has dried. Once the first layer has dried completely you can apply a new layer.
Finish of by doing a little tidy up. If you have any polish that you need to remove then i find wrapping a cotton pad around a cuticle stick and dipping it in nail polish remover much better than cotton buds.
